Harvest and Jurade at St Emilion
Opening of the harvest by the Jurade
Grown on 110,000 hectares of land, the vineyards of Bordeaux are the largest producers of fine wines in the word.

The output covers both reds and whites. The main regions are the Médoc, Graves, Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, Entre-deux-mers, Premières côtes, Sauterne ... In order to guarantee consumers a high-quality product, official bodies controls the conditions of production, stocks, pruning... and maintain a permanent contact between the industry and the wine trade and ensure that decrees relating to appellations are applied. The Academy of Bordeaux Wines publishes every year a code of vintages. Wine tasting is available all around Château Sentout, with famous châteaux open to visitors.

... and country food
Cumlinary artistry The reputation of Bordeaux for gourmet cooking is based on seafood, local farm produce and the wines that are the pinnacle of culinary artistry.

There are the fish, seafood and oysters of the Arcachon Basin. Why not try lamprey "à la bordelaise", shad "à la Robinson", and elvers caught in local rivers. You will find here "Confits", meat preserved in goose or duck fat, fillet of duck, foie gras and not to forget, the famous steak "à la bordelaise", with shallots and grilled over a fire of vine shoots and the penny bun mushrooms gathered in the pine and oak woods.

Numerous restaurants around Château Sentout offer a good variety of cuisine, children are accepted and special children menus are served in most of them. Local cuisine may be prepared and brought to your  cottage.
