Howard J. Morgan

Howard J. Morgan has been a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters since 1986. His work in this field is exceptional and reflected in numerous Royal commissions.

First visit of Howard Morgan at Château Sentout,

Many years ago now, Howard Morgan and his family, first visited Château Sentout and they were also amongst our first guests.

Early, the first  morning, Mr Morgan started exploring the château. I remember meeting him in the darkness of the barn, between our 1970 Pasquali tractor and the 1961 Peugeot car. He was so lost in concentration, looking at the car and the paraphernalia surrounding it that he didn’t even see me. Later, in the afternoon a first painting of the car and the barn was already finished and, every day, another oil or water colour painting was created.

After a few summers and winters spent painting all the landscapes around Sentout, the Morgan academy sadly disappeared from our landscape but, thanks to the Internet, we met again and are lucky enough to be able to admire his web gallery.

And now, thanks to Howard Morgan and his web master Peter Tague, we are  pleased to show you our own Howard Morgan gallery of paintings done at Sentout. Thank you also to Mrs Morgan for having accepted, year after year, living in what was at the time an old and partly derelict cottage having last been restored in 1947... Le Fournil, with no comfort, draughts and maybe one or two leaks... but full of dreams.
